Forms to claim a listing, talk to Craig, ask for a business, and sign up for local demand alerts are not live yet. When they open, they will save only what you type in (such as name, business, email, phone, your message) plus the time you agreed to be contacted and the version of this notice. We never ask for tax IDs, Social Security numbers or bank details, and the claim form refuses them.
To confirm you run a business before marking its listing verified, to put you in touch with a business or with Craig when you ask, and to send the alerts you signed up for. Nothing else. We don’t sell your data.
We send a one-time code by email, only to the email on the public listing or to an address on the business’s own website domain. We store a scrambled (hashed) copy of the code, not the code itself. It expires in 24 hours and works once. If that isn’t possible, Craig confirms directly, for example by calling the phone number on the public listing.
We count listing page views and listing checks so owners can see how they were found. We don’t store your IP address: each visit is logged with a hashed (scrambled) visitor code that changes every day, and the key used to make it is thrown away after about 36 hours. Repeat views of the same listing by the same visitor on the same day, from the same search, are counted once. When a view comes from a search, phone numbers and email addresses are removed from the search words before they are saved, and a search phrase only shows in an owner report once 3 or more searches used it. Public market numbers only show groups of 5 or more. These records are deleted automatically on the schedule below.
Visit and search records: 13 months. Talk-to-Craig and business requests: 13 months. Pending claims: until confirmed or rejected. Rejected claims: 90 days. Used or expired claim codes: 30 days. Daily rate-limit counters: 2 days. Verified claims and alert sign-ups: until you ask us to delete them.
Nia is an AI assistant, not a person. Nia helps keep listings current, answers calls and texts at +1 254-328-1824, and reads requests sent through the site so the right person can follow up. What you tell Nia is used to help you.
Email [email protected] with the subject “Privacy request” to get a copy of what we hold about you, fix it, or have it deleted. Business owners can ask for their listing to be hidden or removed the same way. Requests sent to [email protected] are handled by Ni Biashara; Nia reads that shared inbox daily.
